Bang, 18, finished the tournament at 13-under-par after a final round that featured eight birdies and an eagle on the 15th hole, where she converted a nine-metre putt to move clear of the field. The win comes just three months after Bang turned professional in November, with her mother serving as caddie throughout her rookie season.

"I'm so happy, I can't even put it into words," Bang said.

"It still doesn't feel real yet. I did not expect this at all; big surprise."

She credited her putting as the key to her performance, adding that the eagle on 15 was the highlight of her round.

"I hit a good second shot, maybe nine metres for the putt, and it went in. I couldn't believe it."

She added that her playing partners had made the day an enjoyable one.

"Everyone was very nice and very kind. It was really good to play with them."

Bang is a member of Glenmore Golf Club in Sydney and stays with family in the city when competing in Australia, though she is based in Korea. She has been playing golf for eight years.

American Annika Borrelli finished second at eight-under-par to claim one of the two available spots in the 2026 Ford Women's NSW Open at Wollongong. Borrelli carded rounds of 68 and 70, closing with birdies on 17 and 18 to secure her place.

"I feel like I could cry, honestly," Borrelli said.

"I'm so relieved and so excited. My game has been trending, and to finally do it is a huge relief."

Borrelli, who also competes on the LET, played in the Women's NSW Open last year while injured and said she was looking forward to a full preparation this time around.

Korean Chaeree Lim secured the second qualifying spot with rounds of 69 and 72. Lim made a hole-in-one on Thursday, the fifth ace of her competitive career, and described it as the standout moment of her week.

"It was really good, my favourite part of the tournament, definitely," she said.

Looking ahead to Wollongong, Lim said she would focus on her own game.

"I know the golf will be really hard, but I can try my best."

The final 2026 Ford Women's NSW Open Regional Qualifying Event will take place at The Links Shell Cove from Tuesday next week.
