A number of exciting international additions, including two reigning Order of Merit champions, have been confirmed for the Australian WPGA Championship field at Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club on the Gold Coast this month.
Co-sanctioned by the WPGA Tour of Australasia and Ladies European Tour, the tournament on March 19-22 will complete a four-leg swing of elite women’s professional golf in Australia.
The star-studded line-up now includes the 2025 Ladies European Tour Order of Merit champion Shannon Tan (Singapore) and last year’s WPGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit winner, Cholcheva Wongras (Thailand).
Tan’s remarkable 2025 season resulted in her becoming the first Singaporean to top the LET rankings, capturing titles in Germany and India, and led to a place inside the top 100 on the Rolex women’s world ranking.
Meanwhile, at just 18 years old, Wongras already has six professional wins on her record and was a consistent force on the WPGA Tour of Australasia last year, gaining four top-10s in seven events.
The dual Order of Merit winners will be joined at Sanctuary Cove by a list of other rising young talents, including Canada’s impressive 17-year-old Anna Huang, who won twice on the LET in her rookie year; South African world No.54 Casandra Alexander, who was second in the 2026 LET season opener in Saudi Arabia; and Welsh LET winner Darcey Harry.
WPGA CEO Karen Lunn said: “We’re delighted to announce these outstanding international players joining our 2026 Australian WPGA Championship field.
“Shannon and Cholcheva have previously played regularly in our events in Australia to help improve their games and it’s really pleasing to see them go on to have success in their travels overseas.
“Anna, Casandra and Darcey are also proven winners who should be strong contenders for the Karrie Webb Cup.”
The Australian WPGA Championship field is headed by major champion Hannah Green and fellow LPGA star Steph Kyriacou.
The $600,000 tournament will be a feature of the Festival of Golf - a high-energy, feel-good celebration where golf meets food, fun, fashion and community spirit.
Like the championship, the festival will be free to attend and packed with entertainment and golfing experiences and displays.
It will run from 11am to 6pm on Thursday, March 19 to Saturday, March 21; and 11am to 5pm on Sunday, March 22.
Weekend play in the Australian WPGA Championship will be broadcast on Kayo and Foxtel.
