Cobra Golf isn’t resting on its laurels as equipment innovators with the launch of its F-MAX family, which aims to deliver what the company calls its most forgiving and easy to hit woods and irons ever.
The F-MAX range encompasses drivers, fairways, hybrids and both variable length and one length iron sets for men and ladies which use super light-weight setups to help golfers with moderate swing speeds play their best golf.
“With the creation of F-MAX we have focused on the concept that lighter means easier to hit and we have gone to great lengths to ensure that even our components deliver superiority when it comes to reduced weight,” Cobra Golf Research and Development Vice President Tom Olsavsky said.
The F-MAX driver (RRP: $449.95) incorporates Cobra’s Superlite shaft and a lighter swing weight to increase clubhead speed, while the internal weighting is located towards the heel to increase forgiveness. Players are offered a choice between straight and offset hosels to suit their desired ball flight or typical miss and the addition of a new crown alignment feature inspires confidence when standing on the tee.
Utilising many of the technologies found in the driver of the same name, the F-MAX fairways (RRP $299.95) differ in their Forged 455 Stainless Steel Face Insert, as opposed to the Ti-6-4 Titanium Face insert of the driver, and are offered in higher lofts to help golfers get the ball in the air.
F-MAX hybrids (RRP $269.95) complete the wood family and feature the same Superlite shaft as the driver and fairways as well as the larger grips found throughout the rest of the range. Available in right- and left-hand models, the F-MAX hybrids offer lofts as high as 31˚ for men and 32.5˚ for women.
Designed with the same super light-weight concept as the woods, the low profile head design of the F-MAX irons helps to move the centre of gravity low and back in the head for ideal launch conditions, while the deep undercut cavity allows the face to flex for increased ball speed, even on off centre hits. Progressive head designs and strategic weight placement deliver forgiveness and distance in the long irons and softer feel in the shorter clubs.
Inspired by PGA Tour winner and Cobra player Bryson DeChambeau, the company is offering the new F-MAX iron in one length, to further simplify the game for higher handicap players, with each iron matching 7-iron weighting.
Offered in steel (RRP $129.95 per iron) and graphite (RRP $149.95 per iron) and with the option of variable and one length, the F-MAX irons can fit any player and match perfectly with the rest of the F-MAX range.
The F-MAX family will be available in store from August 18.
