An Aussie crumbles at the last hurdle as an American reigns supreme at St. Andrews
Australian Jason Day has had a final day to forget after letting the 2015 Open Championship slip through his fingers and into the hands of 39 year-old American Zach Johnson. Day who was leading the pack heading into the final day couldn't get the job done finishing in a tie for fourth with Irishman Pádraig Harrington.
Meanwhile, Johnson went onto claim his second major of his career after out-lasting Aussie Marc Leishman and South African Louis Oosthuizenin in a four-hole playoff after all three were tied on -15 after the final days play.
Fellow Australian Adam Scott finished in a tie for tenth.
