A who’s who of the golf world has taken to social media to pay tribute to Jarrod Lyle.
The outpouring of support for Lyle and his wife, Briony, and two daughters, Lusi and Jemma, began after news broke of his decision to discontinue his cancer treatment and move into palliative care.
Major champions and fellow PGA and Australasian Tour players have led the voices reacting on social media:
Just heard the news about Jarrod Lyle. Life is very precious and you have been so strong. We are thinking and praying for you and your family now more than ever. - Ernie, Liezl, Samantha and Ben

So sad to hear. Wish I would’ve known Jarrod better, but the times I spent around him were nothing but so cheerful and amazing. ALL OF US this week on @PGATOUR in Akron will be thinking of @jarrodlylepga and his family 🙌🏼 https://t.co/2o1KH5m1wY

Jarrod Lyle has been part of the @Titleist family since he was a teenager and will continue to be forever more. He has been an inspiration to us all throughout his courageous and ongoing battle with his positive attitude and infectious smile in the face of adversity.

Sad news today about @jarrodlylepga. He fought an unbelievable fight for so long. Awful that it ends this way. He was a blast to hang around, could make you laugh & put a smile on your face. Horschel family sends all their love & support to his wife Bri, daughters Lusi and Jemma

As I sit here @KCGolfClassic I’m reminded that, at this very event several years ago, we welcomed Jarrod back to competitive golf. He’s one of us and I’m incredibly saddened by the news that he’s now in palliative care. Can’t imagine the courage it took to stop treatment.
