Sanctuary Cove is set to come alive this week with the Festival of Golf, a four-day celebration of golf, entertainment, prizes, and lifestyle experiences. From interactive zones and pop-up bars to live entertainment, kids’ activities, shopping, and gourmet food, there’s something for everyone.
At the heart of the Festival is the 2026 Australian WPGA Championship, where leading Australian and international women golfers will compete for the Karrie Webb Cup and $600,000 in prize money. Visitors can watch the action up close while enjoying the festival atmosphere around the course. The festival is open to all ages and free to attend.
Prizes Galore
Attendees can win daily prizes, including a trip to Vietnam, thanks to Luxury Escapes. By subscribing to www.festivalofgolf.com.au, visitors receive a Scan-to-Win link to download a free pass. Bring it along and scan at any Scan-to-Win pod to enter the daily draw. Every day is a new chance to win.
One highlight prize is the ‘Tee Off in Vietnam’ getaway: a 5-day, 4-night stay at the Banyan Tree Lăng Cô in Da Nang for two, including return airport transfers, two rounds of golf at the Nick Faldo–designed Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Course, buggy and caddy (excl. tips), and a 60-minute spa treatment per person.
Players Party: A Ticketed Highlight
The Players Party on Friday, March 20, at Lagoon Beach Club is a festival marquee event. Guests will enjoy live entertainment, premium drinks, and a ‘Beach BBQ’ with interactive stations by celebrity chef Darren Robertson of Three Blue Ducks, supported by InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort. The gourmet menu includes smoked eggplant bruschetta, BBQ chicken wings with nduja butter, flat iron steak, charred cauliflower, salads, and desserts. Drinks include wines from Bimbadgen and Chocolate in a Bottle, cocktails and mocktails from Mr Consistent, and beer from Burleigh Brewing and Peretie.
Hosted by Magdalena Roze, the Players Party also features a Q&A with Australian pros Sarah Kemp and Kelsey Bennett. Ticket holders go into a draw to win a King Island Golf Getaway and receive a complimentary golf shirt from women’s brand Soneven.
Genesis Activation
Visitors can explore the latest Genesis vehicles, including the GV60 Magma making its Australian debut. There’s a golf simulator and daily competitions for prizes.
Justin Douglass, Head of Genesis Motors Australia, said:“Genesis is proud to be part of the Festival of Golf at Sanctuary Cove this year, an event that perfectly captures the premium lifestyle and sense of community that sits naturally alongside our brand. Golf is an important part of the Genesis story globally — from our title sponsorship of the PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational, to our involvement in innovative formats like TGL – and it’s exciting to bring that connection to life here on the Gold Coast. Visitors to the Genesis activation in the Festival Village will be able to experience our latest vehicles up close, including the Australian debut of the GV60 Magma, alongside an interactive golf simulator where guests can test their swing and compete for daily prizes.”
Family-Friendly Fun
The festival includes Crafty Kids, with hands-on workshops for custom golf buddies and personalised golf balls, and the Interactive Zone featuring pitching boards, Connect 4, cornhole, and Xs and Os games for active fun and friendly competition.
Australian WPGA Championship Field
The tournament field is headlined by major champion Hannah Green and LPGA star Steph Kyriacou, joined by recent Australian Women’s Classic winner Kelsey Bennett, Ladies European Tour 2025 Order of Merit champion Shannon Tan, and reigning WPGA Tour of Australasia titleholder Cholcheva Wongras.
