Bridgestone Golf’s Tour B range continues to expand, with its new premium forged Tour B XW-1 wedges the latest model to join the line.
Available in pro shops and off course stores around Australia now, the wedges replace the previous J15 model and feature a classic, simple appearance and teardrop shape.
The XW-1’s ‘Tour Grind’ sole is designed to offer players versatility from a wide variety of lies due to its increased heel and toe relief, improving upon the J15’s ‘Sure Contact’ sole, which only offered relief in the heel of the club.
To deliver increases in spin and trajectory control Bridgestone utilise a parallel micro milling pattern, which places a number of small milled lines between each groove for a rougher surface texture to increase friction at impact.
Forged to deliver the softer feel off the clubface typically preferred by better players the Tour B XW-1 incorporates a block of metal on the back of the club in line with the centre of the face. More than just a place to stamp the ‘Tour B’ logo the ‘Forged Mass’, which also appears in the company’s Tour B X-CB and X-Blade irons, is strategically placed where impact most commonly and ideally occurs to produce a more solid feel.
Available in right hand only and finished in Bridgestone’s Satin Chrome the wedges are offered in seven lofts – 48˚, 50˚, 52˚, 54˚, 56˚, 58˚ and 60˚ – with KBS Hi Rev 2.0 shafts and Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips as standard.
RRP: $199.99.
