Daniel Gale will make his first PGA Tour start at the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities this week after the Castle Hill member navigated Monday qualifying at Victory Links Golf Club in Minnesota.

Gale had the best round of the day alongside Rick Lamb, the pair recording rounds of eight-under 63 to earn a place in the field for this week’s event.

The 26-year-old made nine birdies and one bogey at the par-5 12th during his round, his ability to shoot low scores highlighted when finishing T14 at the Golf Challenge NSW Open when he had Concord Golf Club on 59 watch during the final round before signing for a 62.

“Stoked, it’s going to be my first PGA Tour start and looking forward to getting out there and getting amongst it,” the bucket hat sporting Gale said in a PGA Tour video on Twitter.

Following Aussie Richard Green’s win on the Legends Tour last week, the European senior circuit heads to Gleneagles for The Senior Open presented by Rolex, where there will be three additional Australians following qualifying.

SParms PGA Legends Tour regular Glenn Joyner advanced alongside John Wade and former Singapore National Coach Andrew Welsford in final qualifying to earn their spot at the over 50s major, which was won by the late Ian Stanley in 2001.
