Dear valued Golf Australia readers and subscribers,
The COVID-19 pandemic is touching every part of our lives.
First and foremost is the health and well-being of family and friends.
But as we have seen during the past 72 hours, this crisis is rapidly evolving and has far-reaching effects as we all deal with lockdowns, social distancing, self-isolation and an economic downturn like we have never seen before.
The uncertainty of what lies ahead is also having a significant detrimental impact on the Australian golf community. Events have been cancelled, all clubhouses closed, courses are looking at closing (at the time of writing), while golf tourism has come to a halt.
Golf Australia magazine is also feeling the impact of these unprecedented times. As a result, we have suspended the upcoming publication of our May edition, due to go on sale on April 16. A decision to publish the June issue will be made at a later date.
Let me assure you this is not the end of Golf Australia magazine, we will be back.
Our decision not to publish has been endorsed by our loyal advertising clients and we thank them for that and look forward to having them back in the magazine as soon as possible.
We hope you, our highly-valued readers and subscribers, also understand that publishing Golf Australia at the height of this pandemic would certainly jeopardise future editions of the magazine.
While our print magazine is on a break, we will still be providing plenty of content through our website, www.golfaustralia.com.au, which we hope will help you while away the hours at home during this critical time. You might improve your game at home and simply enjoy listening to our fortnightly podcast A Thing About Golf.
If you don’t want to miss any online stories or image galleries, you can subscribe to our bi-weekly newsletter https://www.golfaustralia.com.au/register , which will be delivered straight to your email inbox.
Also, by subscribing to future issues of Golf Australia magazine (https://www.mymagazines.com.au/magazine/golf-australia) , you will be supporting a home-grown publication to continue showcasing the very best of Australian golf.
Most importantly, I hope you all make it through this crisis in good health and are back walking the fairways as soon as possible.
