Despite many and varied challenges, 2020 saw the exponential rise in popularity of the Adidas Junior 6s within Australia.
Introducing a unique points system throughout the qualifying series saw players rewarded for season-long consistency. Add in the substantial amount of professional tournament exemptions on offer for both sexes (nine), and this series rapidly became the greatest pathway to professional golf worldwide.
In 2021, the Adidas Junior 6s will again be expanding, with plans in place to include international events. The full schedule will be announced early in the new year.
“To be conducting our first World Final on Australia’s greatest golf course, is mind-blowing." - Ewan Porter.
What can be made official is that the 2021 Adidas Junior 6s World Final will be held at the famed Royal Melbourne Golf Club on October 25-26, 2021.
“This is simply the most fabulous news we could wish for,” Tournament founder Ewan Porter said. “To be conducting our first World Final on Australia’s greatest golf course, is mind-blowing.
“I’m beyond thrilled at how quickly this series has grown and it’s a testament to the hard work and devotion that Golf Genius and our entire team has invested into each event. I must express my gratitude to everyone at Royal Melbourne for making this dream a reality.
“I know I can speak on behalf of our team and all the competitors, in saying that we cannot wait to be at Royal Melbourne in October next year.”
The Royal Melbourne Golf Club Captain, Andrew Kirby added that the Club is always very pleased to support junior golf, especially an exciting new format for golf like the Junior 6s.
The final will be played on Royal Melbourne’s famous West Course. The players will also experience a practice round at the redesigned Sandringham Golf Links, located across the road, which is maintained and operated by The Royal Melbourne Golf Club and has the same Sutton's mix greens, which are renowned around the world for playing very firm and fast.
