US Women’s Amateur: Aussies Ruffels and Mahar advance
Rachel Heck won the first four holes against Therese Warner, then hung on in a rollercoaster match that set the tone on a day when many of the top seeds were threatened, but advanced in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, including defending champion Gabi Ruffels.

Ruffels among top US Women’s Amateur match play qualifiers
Gabriela Ruffels played her final 15 holes bogey-free at the US Women's Amateur this morning to advance to the match play, with fellow Aussies Emily Mahar and Kirsty Hodgkins, while American Rachel Heck took medallist honours.
