Tiger Woods’ decision to withdraw from the remainder of this year’s US PGA Tour could mean the end is near for the once unstoppable golfer.
He will not take part in the remaining five tournaments of the season as he attempts to recover from injury in time for the first round of the ‘16/’17 season in October.
The 14-time major winner has had multiple back operations and several other injury issues since his well-documented controversies of 2009.
“Not going to play in the ‘15/’16 season,” his agent Mark Steinberg said.
“We will assess this Fall when to come back and play for the ‘16/’17 season.”
Woods, now 40, has not played in a professional event since he finished tied for 10th at the Wyndham Championship in August last year.
