- Shinkwin’s maiden European Tour win came off the back of a final round 63 and some top class ball striking for the week with a set of irons he recently put in play. The Englishman currently uses Callaway’s new Apex MB irons and found more than 80 percent of greens in regulation over the week in Cyprus. Shinkwin also giving Callaway irons and drivers their third win in a row on the European Tour.
- Ranking third for Strokes Gained: Putting, the 27-year-old opts for an Odyssey Triple Track Double Wide putter featuring three unique alignment lines inspired by the same concept used on aircraft carriers to assist in landing planes. Originally employed in Callaway’s golf balls, Shinkwin uses the alignment aid on his golf ball as well to assist in lining up putts.
Defeating Kalle Samooja on the first hole of sudden death, Shinkwin’s win is the second straight on the European Tour for Chrome Soft X golf balls.
