Aussie golf sensation Min Woo Lee reckons it's only a matter of time before his dual-major-winning sister strikes again after switching to a broomstick putter.
Masters hunter Min Woo Lee is warning the golfing world to "watch out" for Minjee after his superstar sister made a gallant exit from the LPGA's cut-throat Match Play event in Nevada.
Min Woo has, for the time being anyway, wrestled family bragging rights and seized the pre-Augusta spotlight with an epic breakthrough PGA Tour triumph at last week's Houston Open.
But the new world No.22 is adamant his dual-major-champion sibling is on the cusp of her own drought-breaking victory after going winless since October 2023.
And his confidence not only comes from Minjee's pedigree, but also the 28-year-old's decision to switch to a long putter in 2025.
"She's a winner. I mean, she just plays such good golf," Min Woo said from the commentary box in his new home town of Las Vegas.
"Yeah, watch out for her with this long putter if the long putter behaves."
After going painfully close to adding a third career major at the 2024 U.S Open, Minjee has dropped from second in the rankings to world No.18.
But Min Woo is applauding his sweet-swinging sister's decision to switch to a long wand this season to help solve her well-documented putting woes.
"I practised with her early in the year and she's actually been very solid with it in the last few months," Min Woo said.
"The first or second week she was trying out this putter and during her trial era, when we were doing putting comps, she was holing short putts, long parts - every putt.
"So that was very cool to see. Not against me, but it was cool to see my sister get her mojo back a bit.
"I think it's kind of made her really enjoy and love golf again.
"Last year was pretty mentally draining for her and we had the talks. We share the same coach, Ritchie Smith and they've talked about it for a while now.
"But it's quite hard [changing] because she's had so much success with the short putter in past experiences, so you don't want to switch things.
"Going to the long putter has made her look at golf in a different way and I think she's starting to blossom again."
After going winless in a season since before Covid-19, Minjee has already posted a runner-up, an equal-fourth and a joint-11th from five starts in 2025.
"So she needed this little bit of a change," Min Woo said after also revealing he'd spoken with Australia's only ever Masters winner about her going to a broomstick putter.
"She went backwards in the world rankings last year, but I think she's ready to have some good finishes and a win's nearby.
"When I talked to Adam Scott about it, he just said the same thing.
"He said he just needed something completely different, new movement. Scotty has slowly worked his way back and he's hitting it as good as ever and putting better, too.
"He'll probably win soon and be up there on the leaderboards ... he already is."
