Fitzpatrick entered the week No.40 in the FedEx Cup points standings and jumped to No.10 by tying for second at the BMW on Sunday behind winner Viktor Hovland of Norway.

Only the top 30 players after Sunday's action advanced to the season-ending Tour Championship, which takes place on the East Lake course in Atlanta, Georgia, from August 24-27.

Jason Day is the only Australian to make the cut. He carded an even par 70 on Sunday to finish at seven over and tied for 45th place. He will be ranked 25th when the Tour Championship gets under way.

Hovland, who fired a course-record 61 that included a seven under 28 for his back nine, moved from seventh to second in the standings.
