Smyth, winner of International Series Japan earlier this season, recorded a tied-19th finish at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam to reclaim the summit of the season-long standings on 191.20 points. The Australian now holds a narrow advantage over Singapore Open presented by The Business Times champion Jeongwoo Ham, while Kho's breakthrough triumph in Morocco propelled him into third, firmly into the Rankings race.

For Smyth, returning to the top of the Rankings represents another important step towards achieving his long-term ambitions.

"It's an awesome feeling to be back at number one," said Smyth.

"I think it opens up opportunities to make more appearances in LIV Golf events, which is a huge opportunity. This, coupled with my performance in Korea, helps a lot, but just knowing I'll be there and ready for a call-up is exciting."

"Hopefully, I can continue playing well over the next couple of months, then return to The International Series and finish the year strongly. The goal is to stay at number one and finish at the top of the Rankings because that can open up multiple doors for my career. That's always been the goal."

While Smyth returned to the summit, the biggest mover came in the form of Kho, whose victory against two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson elevated him into third place and firmly into the Rankings conversation.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a breakout stretch of form, following a runner-up finish on the Japan Golf Tour with his maiden International Series title in Morocco.

"It feels great to move into third on The International Series Rankings," said Kho.

"These are the premier events on the Asian Tour and provide a pathway to bigger opportunities, so climbing the Rankings is a big step forward for my season."

The victory also arrives at the perfect time, with Kho preparing for a return to home soil at the next stop on the schedule, the Link Hong Kong Open at Hong Kong Golf Club.

"Hong Kong is next, so going back home with a win would be really special," he said.

"Playing at home is one of my favourite experiences. Interestingly, my other professional wins have come in Hong Kong and China, so this feels like my first victory outside my home region. That adds another layer of belief and confidence."

"I'm really looking forward to the week in Hong Kong."

With three events completed, the race for the 2026 International Series Rankings title is beginning to take shape.

Australia's Cameron John sits fourth after his runner-up finish in Singapore, while Thailand's Jazz Janewattananond climbed to fifth following his tied-third result in Morocco.

Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson occupies sixth place after his runner-up finish in Rabat, narrowly ahead of Thailand's Pavit Tangkamolprasert in seventh. Japan's Ryosuke Kinoshita is eighth, with compatriot Tomohiro Ishizaka ninth and Thailand's Suteepat Prateeptienchai rounding out the top 10.

With several marquee events still to come, the battle for top spots in the Rankings and the opportunities that come with it is set to intensify over the second half of the season.
