Scheffler closed with a five-under 67 at Silverado to finish at 19-under 269 and collect his 19th career PGA Tour title. The win sees him join Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer as the only players since 1960 to win six or more tournaments in consecutive seasons.

“This was a week in which I was playing a new golf course, a golf course that was pretty challenging to play for the first time,” Scheffler said. “Did a really good job of kind of staying in the tournament the first two days, and then the last two, I played some really good golf in order to be in this position.”

Scheffler overturned an eight-shot deficit on the weekend with rounds of 64 and 67. The result pushed his season earnings to more than $27.6 million.

Griffin, who will make his Ryder Cup debut later this month, carded a closing 70 after missing a five-foot putt on the final hole that would have forced a playoff. “I felt like I just wasn’t quite as sharp from short range as I needed to be,” Griffin said.

Scheffler was among several U.S. Ryder Cup players who identified the Procore Championship as preparation for Bethpage Black. Four of them finished inside the top 10, including U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun (66) in sixth and Cameron Young (67) in a share of ninth.

“We felt it would be more valuable to get all the guys together here this week to play tournament golf in order to stay in shape,” Scheffler said.

“For me, there’s just a difference between practicing and playing at home, and getting under the gun in a tournament.”

Lanto Griffin shot a final-round 65 to finish third, moving to No.100 in the FedEx Cup standings.

Scheffler will now turn his attention to the Ryder Cup, where the United States face Europe at Bethpage Black from September 26–28.
