Wade Ormsby and Bryden Macpherson are three strokes behind the leaders after the first round of the European Tour's Wales Open in Newport.
The Australian duo both shot four-under 67s to trail leaders Vincent Norrman and Nacho Elvira.
They are tied fifth with seven others in a crowded leaderboard, with James Morrison and Mikko Korhonen one stroke ahead of them.
Ormsby mixed eight birdies with four bogeys while reigning NSW Open champion Macpherson had two bogeys to go with his six birdies.
Swedish newcomer Norrman is continuing his remarkable start to life as a full-time golfer after only turning professional last month.
He has already had a hole-in-one and a top five in the paid ranks and was bogey free in his 64 at Celtic Manor.
That left him alongside Spaniard Elvira who recorded two bogeys and a double, but countered that with nine birdies and an eagle.
