Golfing enthusiasts throughout Western Australia and beyond celebrated a major milestone with Links Kennedy Bay officially reopening its 18-hole golf course on Sunday 2 November, following an $18 million redevelopment.
Located along the stunning Indian Ocean coastline just 45 minutes south of Perth and managed by Clublinks, the redevelopment has restored the precinct to full capacity after operating as a 9-hole course for the past 5 years.
Spanning more than 6,800 metres, the revitalised 18-hole layout, designed by Graham Marsh Golf Design, development managed by Place Development and constructed by New Ground, combines cutting-edge course design with links characteristics.
The course features over 100 bunkers, undulated fairways and superbly manicured greens, offering a true links challenge that celebrates the coastal landscape and provides a world[1]class golfing experience for locals as well as interstate and international visitors.
Beyond golf, Links Kennedy Bay continues to grow as a community destination, featuring popular family-friendly restaurant ‘Birdie’, adventure playground ‘The Nest’, Pro-Shop and four new padel ball courts to also open next month.

Venue Manager at Links Kennedy Bay Jamie Brigden said the reopening was an exciting moment for both the club and the local community.
“It’s been a long time coming and our members, some of whom have been with us for over 20 years, have shown incredible patience and loyalty. It’s fantastic to see the course back to its full 18 holes and ready to be enjoyed again by the members,” Mr Brigden said.
“With its distinctive dune-style landscape, firm fairways and ocean views, Links Kennedy Bay is set to re-establish itself as a premier golfing destination for golfers and holidaymakers.”
The course sits in the heart of the growing coastal community Kennedy Bay, complementing the areas relaxed beachside lifestyle. Place Development Australia has been instrumental in delivering the Kennedy Bay project since being appointed by WABGR (Western Australia Beach & Golf Resort) to lead development of the master planned community seven years ago.
Development Manager at Place Development, David Roberts said the team was proud to see Kennedy Bay’s growth and to have delivered facilities that add real value to the area.
“It has been incredibly rewarding to see the Kennedy Bay master planned community move from strength-to-strength as quality infrastructure and amenity has become tangible for locals and visitors alike,” Mr Roberts said.

“We are thrilled to have been able to move quickly to deliver what is now well-used and well-loved amenity to the area. The newly completed Links Course is a very special asset that will be valued by many for decades to come.”
Long time member Grant, who has played at Kennedy Bay for 25 years, said the new design stayed true to the original course.
“The new course has the same feel to it, which is really important for members. It’s got the wavy greens… I think they’ve done a great job, the staff have really held it together,” Grant said.
The new 18-hole course officially opened for play on Sunday, 2 November, with a free community open day on Sunday 23 November, inviting locals to experience the new layout and facilities
