Nelly Korda captured her first U.S. Women's Open title and second consecutive major championship after surviving a dramatic finish at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles.
The world No.1 closed with a two-under 69 to finish at eight-under-par, one shot clear of England's Charley Hull and Mexico's Gaby Lopez.
Korda's winning par on the final hole came in extraordinary fashion, her 2½-foot putt catching the edge of the cup and circling around the hole before eventually dropping.
The victory is the fourth major title of Korda's career and follows her triumph at The Chevron Championship in April.
Played in windy conditions at Riviera, the first U.S. Women's Open held at the historic venue featured a tightly packed leaderboard throughout the final round.
Korda found herself sharing the lead with Lopez, Hull and three-time major winner In Gee Chun during the closing stages before producing the decisive moment on the par-four 17th. A birdie putt from nine feet moved her to eight-under and gave her sole possession of the lead heading to the final hole.
The American safely reached the 18th green in regulation and two-putted for par, although her second putt took a nerve-racking journey around the cup before falling.
The win continues a dominant season for the 27-year-old, who has now claimed three victories and recorded three runner-up finishes in her opening seven starts of 2026.
After opening the championship with a one-over 73, Korda responded with consecutive rounds of 67 to force her way into contention before completing the job on Sunday.
Her victory earned the winner's share of the tournament's record US$12.5 million purse and further strengthens her position atop the women's world rankings.
