Five-star courses and hotels have pushed Thailand to the forefront of golf tourism in Asia. Now, you can join us on tour to experience the best golf the kingdom has to offer.
Thailand has emerged in recent years as one of the world’s most popular golf destinations.
Incredible value for money golf courses, luxury resorts and hotels and the multitude of non-golfing attractions has pushed Thailand to the forefront of golf tourism in south-east Asia with nearly 600,000 international golfers visiting its shores this year.
Now you too can experience what thousands of golfers are already raving about, thanks to Golf Australia magazine.
In May 2013, Golf Australia, in association with tour operators Gimme Golf and GolfAsian, will host a Readers Tour to Thailand where you will get the chance to play some of the best courses in Asia, relax in luxurious five-star hotels and take in some of the memorable sights of Bangkok, Hua Hin and Pattaya.
Join either editor Brendan James or deputy editor Steve Keipert for rounds of golf, among others, at the magnificent Siam Country Club, a two-time host of the Honda LPGA , as well as the spectacular Black Mountain Golf Club, which was voted the best course in Asia last year and recently hosted the Royal Trophy. There will also be time to play the club’s outstanding new nine-hole par-3 course.
On returning to Bangkok you will also experience what it is like to play Augusta National – home of the US Masters – during a round on the Royal Gems Golf Club ‘Dream Arena’ course. Each hole of the front nine has been designed based on one of the great holes in world golf, while the back nine is a copy of the back nine at Augusta.
“I have played golf in the Kingdom several times before and have always returned home with great memories … from on and off the golf course,” James said. “This tour will give us the opportunity to play some golf with our readers and hopefully give them an unforgettable golfing experience as well as share a few yarns about this game we love.”
The package includes two nights’ accommodation in Pattaya at the five-star Hilton Hotel in a deluxe sea view room, three nights’ stay in Hua Hin at the five-star Hilton Hotel in a sea view bay room and two nights’ accommodation at the five-star Westin Hotel in Bangkok. Breakfast is included daily.
Green and caddy fees (one caddy per golfer at each course) are included for all rounds, while a cart (with caddy) is provided at Siam CC, Royal Gems and Banyan GC (compulsory). The package also includes all airport, land and golf course transfers, which will be in a private VIP top touring van or coach, depending on numbers.
Also, every golfer booking a place on the Readers Tour will get a two-year subscription to Golf Australia magazine, a Golf Australia golf shirt, a dozen Srixon Z-Star golf balls and a David Leadbetter instruction DVD, all worth $199.
International airfares, airport taxes, drinks, meals and gratuities are excluded from the package.
The package costs $1,795 (per golfer, two share) or $2,195 (per golfer individual room). A $1,000 deposit is due at time of booking, with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival.
