Ruffels earned her promotion through the Epson Tour's Race for the Card after winning three times this season on the secondary circuit in America. Her third win came last weekend, when she claimed the Four Winds Invitational by three strokes.

Incredibly, the 23-year-old clinched her place on the biggest stage in women's golf with seven tournaments still to play on the Epson Tour in the 2023 season.

"Winning once on the highly competitive Epson Tour is a great accomplishment. Winning three times in one season is a feat only achieved by the most elite," said LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan.

"Gabi's success this year is a testament to not only her world-class talent but also to her resilience, positive attitude and hard work.

"Gabi is ready to compete at the very highest level of the game."

She already has.

A year after becoming the first-ever Australian to win the U.S Women's Amateur title in 2019, Ruffels posted two top-15 finishes at the majors.

The former Australian junior tennis No.1 was tied for 13th at the 2020 U.S Women's Open and joint 15th at the Chevron Championship.

"I'm so excited to officially say that I will be on the LPGA Tour next year," she said.

"It has been my goal since I turned pro at the start of 2021. It means the world and is something that every little girl playing golf strives to do.

"So, to be able to have status for next year and play in the tournaments that I grew up watching on TV is such a great feeling. I'm super excited for 2024."

Ruffels will join major winners Minjee Lee and Hannah Green, plus Su Oh, Sarah Jane Smith, Sarah Kemp, Grace Kim, Steph Kyriacou and Karis Davidson as the ninth Australian on the LPGA Tour.
