Gabriela Ruffels has fired a three under 69 to claim a three-stroke victory in the Four Winds Invitational on the secondary Epson Tour in the United States.
Ruffels finished three shots clear of Americans Katherine Smith (69) and Becca Hufner (70). Queenslander Robyn Choi (70) finished at six under and T8, which was her fourth top-10 of the year.
This was Ruffels’ third Epson Tour win of 2023 and has extended her lead at the top of the Epson Tour’s money list, which has all but guaranteed the 23-year-old Victorian will earn her playing card on the LPGA for 2024 at season’s end with the top-10 players earning promotion.
The 2019 U.S Women’s Amateur Champion set up the win at South Bend CC in Indiana with a bogey-free second round 65. In fact, she only had one bogey in 54 holes, which came at the par-4 2nd in the final round.
"It was kind of a weird round today," Ruffels said. "I started off two ahead, and then we got called off due to weather on the first green. I had like a four-foot birdie putt that I had to sit and think about. Then I made my first bogey of the week at number two, so I got a little unsettled there. Other than that, I played pretty steady golf coming in, so I was pretty happy."

Ruffels plans to compete in most of the final events on the Epson Tour calendar and fully prepare for what looks like her rookie season on the LPGA in 2024. For now, three wins in 12 starts even had the Epson Tour sophomore a bit speechless and looking forward to remaining tournaments in 2023.
"I am not sure what my plan is yet; I haven't even thought that far ahead," Ruffels said. "I am going to take a week off next week and go back home to California. Then I have a start at the Canadian (CPKC Women's Open) on the LPGA Tour, so that's what's next right now."
