Cobra Golf has announced the release of its latest KING F8 range, which the company calls “the first fully connected set of clubs."
The KING F8 line comprises a standard and plus model in the driver and fairway woods and standard and ‘One’ versions of both the irons and hybrids. With the One model name designating the company’s one length varieties which make its way into a hybrid for the first time and the plus identifying the better player version of the woods.
Every KING F8 golf club is ‘connected’ thanks to the award winning Cobra Connect powered by Arccos system, which uses sensors embedded in the butt of the grip to offer detailed and automatic shot and game tracking as well as a GPS function.
While the technology of Cobra Connect throughout the set is a first for Cobra it is another technologically driven first incorporated in the F8 and F8+ drivers that is the standout feature of the entire F8 range.
The company’s first fully machined driver face removes the need for traditional hand polishing and finishing of a driver face to achieve exact bulge and roll measurements as well as thickness. Instead incorporating a CNC milled pattern that allows Cobra to offer a thinner face that pushes the KING F8 and F8+ closer towards the maximum limits of performance dictated by the rules of golf, increasing ball speed and distance.
In addition to the milled face of the new drivers Cobra utilise an ultralight carbon fibre crown, adjustable weights offering movable centre of gravity (CG), a patented ‘E9’ face design, adjustable ‘MyFly8’ hosel and ‘360˚ Aero’ technology which utilises trips on the perimeter of the head to reduce drag, increasing clubhead speed.
In another company first the KING F8 and F8+ incorporate a carbon fibre crown in a mainline fairway wood for the first time and like the driver the new fairways feature aerodynamically designed trips for improved aerodynamics and an adjustable hosel design.
Cobra’s ‘Baffler Dual Rail’ system allows the company’s engineers to precisely place the CG in both fairway models while also reducing twisting, with ‘Progressive Rail Heights’ designed for loft specific performance.
The F8 One hybrid is specifically designed and weighted to play at 7-iron length and offer players the enhanced simplicity and consistency of playing their irons and hybrids at one constant length.
While progressive cavity and groove designs throughout the set deliver optimal performance in each iron. With long irons geared for distance and short irons designed for increased control.
