Bryson DeChambeau says being in the zone is weird.

"It's this weird unique position where you're in control, but you also feel like it's just going to happen - no matter what," DeChambeau said.

The American megastar hopes to return to the zone again on Sunday when he duels with former world No.1 Jon Rahm for LIV Golf's Adelaide title.

The breakaway tour's two biggest stars are tied at 19 under, five shots ahead of the field at the Grange.

DeChambeau shot an eight-under 64 on Saturday featuring nine birdies in an 11-hole stretch - the zone.

Fans The Winners as Bison Goes Wild at The Grange

Bryson DeChambeau’s philosophy to golf appears to be "go hard or go home". He winds up and lets rip, and the golf ball soars to many parts of the course, most of which designer Vern Morcom did not have in mind as landing zones. At The Grange on Friday, DeChambeau went hard and was a long way from home. And legions of fans had intimate seats to a visceral, thrilling performance by this great entertainer, writes Matt Cleary

"It takes a lot of time to get there, it takes time and experience to get there," the American said

"Nothing can go wrong ... things are just kind of going your way. You're rolling, you just stay in that zone.

"It's definitely a fun feeling to get in that flow and feel like you're really comfortable."

Rahm followed his nine-under 63 on Friday with a six-under on Saturday highlighted by holing a 62-metre wedge on the 18th.

The Spaniard said Sunday's battle with DeChambeau justified LIV's move to four-round tournaments this year.

"I've been a proponent of 72 holes, I just think more golf is better," Rahm said.

"Better for players, better for the viewers, especially for a week like this one ... it's great that we get 18 holes to decide a winner."

American Anthony Kim, at 14 under, is next-best, ahead of a four-strong batch at 13 under, including Australians Cam Smith and Lucas Herbert.

"Giving six shots to both Bryson and Jon is probably not where you want to be on the last day, to be honest," said Smith, who carded an eight-under 64 on Saturday.

"It's going to take a lot. If I went out there and played similar, I think I'm in with a chance."

Smith, Herbert, Marc Leishman (eight under) and Elvis Smylie (six under) have their all-Australian Ripper GC sitting second in the team standings, four shots behind Rahm's Legion XIII.
