Getting the fundamentals correct is crucial to prevent 'raising the bat' on your scorecard.

“Why is my score never below that magic ton?”
For those players with a handicap in the 20s, it is the most often asked question and the answer is a simple one.
Except for limitations physically or those just starting in the game, getting to an average of about a bogey per hole should be easy.
Basic fundamentals is the key as a foundation of performing a reasonable efficient swing motion.
Use the following checklist to get your game and scores heading in the right direction.
BALL POSITION
Hitting the driver, the ball is opposite your left heel; for irons, hybrids and fairway metals, it’s in the middle of your stance.
THE GRIP
Take the club in your fingers of both hands. Now, see the glove logo on your left hand for right-handers? You should see one knuckle on your right hand, while your hands should be close together or overlapping.
POSTURE
Have only a little knee flex, straight back and tilted, with hands set under your chin.
DOWNWARD & THROUGH
At impact the club needs to create a divot, always after the ball, so hitting down (above) and through is a key ingredient for future improvement. Your eyes must follow the ball flight (below) like every good player. This will assist the turning of your body to the target to complete a finish.
