Reigning Australian Open Champion Cameron Davis will be the first Aussie on course, playing in Group 27 of the 52 groups. He tees off at 11.36am local time. Brett Rumford (Group 51) and Matt Jones (Group 52) won’t begin their Open campaigns until 4.16 on Thursday afternoon (local time).

The stacking of the Aussie contingent into the out-late-Thursday, out-early-Friday side of the draw has the potential to derail their chances if the weather plays any kind of significant role on Thursday afternoon.

But if the weather stays stable across the opening day, the Australians will have the chance to stamp their authority on the Championship before the Friday afternoon groups head out onto the hard baked Carnoustie course.
