Bosio earned one of 13 available places at Final Qualifying after carding a three-under-par 69 at nearby St Annes Old Links, where a field of 111 players battled breezy conditions over 18 holes.

The Australian finished alongside English amateur Lauren Crump, former Curtis Cup player Annabell Fuller, France's Vanessa Bouvet and Spain's Carla Tejedo Mulet, with the quintet all sharing rounds of 69 to comfortably book their places in the season's final major championship.

"I came out yesterday and played a practice round and it was very windy, so I think that helped today," Bosio said. "It's my first links golf since the Women's Amateur at Prince's in 2023. Where I struggle sometimes on links course is creativity, but I visualised all my shots pretty well today.

"It's really exciting to qualify for my first major. It's my rookie season on the Ladies' European Tour and I've just come back from three weeks off at home. Previously, I had some good form with a tied-second at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open and tied-fifth at the Dutch Ladies Open. I had confidence in my game."

Belgium's Manon De Roey and England's Bel Wardle topped the qualifying leaderboard with matching four-under-par rounds of 68. Wardle, 26, will make her major championship debut, while De Roey, 34, secured her seventh consecutive appearance at the AIG Women's Open after posting her score in the final group of the day.

Eight players finished at two-under-par and contested a play-off for the remaining six qualifying spots. Anna Foster, Chloe Williams, Polly Mack, Ana Pelaez Trivino, Amanda Doherty and Jodi Ewart Shadoff all advanced to complete the field of qualifiers.

The 2026 AIG Women's Open will be played at Royal Lytham & St Annes from July 29 to August 2, with a world-class field chasing the coveted title at the final major championship of the year.
