Working alongside Clayton Golf and Kruse Golf, the club has given its bunkers a complete rethink  in a project led on the ground by rising design talent Lukas Michel.

The Aussie pro-turned-course-shaper has already built an impressive resume, having worked with some of the game’s biggest names, including Mike DeVries and Gil Hanse, and played a key role in creating Tasmania’s acclaimed Seven Mile Beach Golf Course.

Rather than sticking to the traditional Sandbelt style, the new bunkering takes inspiration from classic U.S designer Seth Raynor, blending bold visuals with a practical edge which suits the heavier soils of the Yarra Valley. The result? A course that looks sharper, plays smarter and sets itself apart.

“Mike Clayton and Harley Kruse have brought their world-class expertise to this project,” says Yering Meadows GM Lucy Jiang. “Together with Lukas, they’ve created a layout that’s more functional, sustainable and a whole lot more fun to play.”

The “We’re Back” campaign isn’t just about a facelift - it’s about raising the bar. With fresh bunkering, renewed focus on course quality and an eye on the member experience, Yering Meadows is ready to reclaim its spot as one of Victoria’s must-play destinations.
