Victoria’s Stacey Keating couldn’t hold on to claim her third Ladies European Tour title, as she was overrun by Dane Nanna Koerstz Madsen, who fired a bogey-free six under 65 to win the Tipsport Golf Masters by five strokes.

A second round 64 propelled Keating into lead with 18 holes to play but she had no answer to the surging 21-year-old Madsen, who started the final round a shot out of the lead.

Madsen’s six-birdie 65 was the best round of the day at Golf Park Pilsen in the Czech Republic, which saw her finish at 15 under.

Scotland’s Pamela Pretswell and Keating both holed long birdie putts on 18 to move into joint second.

LEADERBOARD

Madsen made a hot start with three birdies in her first seven holes. She birdied the 2nd hole to tie for the lead and then made a four footer at the 5th to go one ahead. Another birdie on the 7th hole saw her establish a two-stroke lead over Keating. A fourth birdie from long range on the par-4 12th gave her a three stroke lead.

Madsen continued her winning run after play was suspended for two hours due to severe weather midway through the afternoon. The Dane made further birdies at the 14th and 17th holes, which stretched her lead to six shots before Pretswell and Keating birdied the 18th.

“It’s been a good week,” Madsen said. “I played really solid with two bogey-free rounds and not a lot of bad shots. I just tried to stay calm and enjoy leading, having fun with my caddie. I thought I would have been more nervous, but I wasn’t that nervous at all.”

For Keating, her runner-up finish was her best result so far this year and moved her to seventh on the LET money list.
