PUTTING IN REVERSE
Sometimes no matter how hard you look, both from behind your ball and the hole, the line of a putt will leave you baf? ed. But have you tried this: walk up to the hole and imagine putting back to your ball (pic 1). Picture how your ball will react along the way. That done, return to your ball and reverse the process. Now all you have to do is factor in the pace.

One good tip an old man once gave me was to leave my golf buggy beside the green beyond the line of my putt, especially long putts. This meant I had to walk past the hole on the way to my ball (pic 2) and this can give you a really good idea of what the ball is going to do in terms of break and speed, especially as it nears the hole.
