cleveland
halo utility club
MODEL & SHAFT PLAYED:
Cleveland HALO 2i Club with 19° loft
and fitted with a HALO regular graphite shaft.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
This is the first hybrid club I have tried,
having resisted the current trend to drop long irons out of the
bag in favour of more forgiving utilities. This club looks more
like a small headed 5-wood than a ‘chunky iron’.
VERDICT:
I needed to tee the ball low to keep the
trajectory down when using this club from the tee but the HALO
provided solid, boring shots off the deck when hit with a smooth
swing. Distance wise this club seemed an
ideal 2-iron replacement, with shots flying slightly longer and
higher than my current 2-iron when hit smoothly. In fact, as I
don’t really like to use my 3-wood, this club could perform
two jobs – it could replace my fairway wood as well as my
longest iron, allowing me to add another wedge to my bag.
