clubs road test:
TAYLORMADE rac TP FORGED IRONS

Reviewed by: David Spindler
Handicap: 2

Model and shaft played:
TaylorMade rac TP Forged irons fitted with TaylorMade TP Dynamic Gold S300 shafts.

First Impressions:
Bearing in mind that the TaylorMade TP irons are designed as a better players forged club, I was pleasantly surprised with the look of them at address. I was expecting a tiny clubhead, but these clubs were a good size with a nice topline.

Verdict:
I currently play traditional blade irons, and these TaylorMade irons had a deeper face, which I liked because it allowed me to see a lot more of the clubface at address. I wouldn’t consider these a true ‘blade’ iron as all clubs in the set feature a small cavity back. These irons were also a bit heavier than my current set but this extra weight didn’t mean that they felt awkward. In fact, I thought that the balance of these clubs was near perfect with the shafts matched nicely to the heads. I could easily feel the position of the clubhead throughout my swing. These clubs would definitely suit a good, stronger player which is no doubt who they are aimed at.
